A Recipe For Caring, Commitment, and Compassion

In its sixteenth  year, Community Services Agency's “Chefs Who Care” dine-out has been a popular fundraiser that rotates among some of the area’s finest restaurants. Participating restaurants donate 50% of their proceeds for a specified dinner on a particular date (or two) each month.

“It’s a fun, easy, and rewarding way to support Community Services Agency and a great way to sample some of the new restaurants in the area, “ says Jim Boin, Development Director for CSA,  “We have groups of friends who all come together on the same night, but you don’t have to be a part of a group to participate – just call or mail payment with information and sign up in advance.”

The event is so popular now, attracting over 200 people each month that it is sometimes held over a 3-night period depending on the restaurant size.

Last year over $30,000 was raised to support our Food and Nutrition Center, the largest component of our Emergency Assistance Program.

The food available in our Food and Nutrition Center supports self-sufficiency by allowing money that might have gone to groceries to go for rent, medical bills and other expenses,” says LaDrea Clark, CSA’s Food & Nutrition Assistant. “It also provides an opportunity with health and nutrition education to address lifestyle choices in diet that may impact future health problems with their subsequent economic and social burdens.
