A Recipe For Caring, Commitment, and Compassion
In its twentieth year, Community Services Agency's “Chefs Who Care” dine-out is a popular fundraiser that rotates among some of the area’s finest restaurants. Participating restaurants donate 40-50% of their proceeds for a specified dinner on a particular date (or two) each month to support the CSA Food & Nutrition Center,
“The food available in our Food and Nutrition Center supports self-sufficiency by allowing money that might have gone to groceries to go for rent, medical bills and other expenses,” says LaDrea Clark, CSA’s Food & Nutrition Assistant. “It also provides an opportunity with health and nutrition education to address lifestyle choices in diet that may impact future health problems with their subsequent economic and social burdens.”
“It’s a fun and easy way to help fight hunger and food insecurity in our community and a great way to sample some of the new restaurants in the area at the same time" says Jim Boin, Development Director for CSA, “There are groups of friends who all come together on the same night, but you don’t have to be a part of a group to participate – just call or mail payment with information and sign up in advance.”
